Model Children

I was surfing my friends blogs and stopped by my wonderful neighbor, Monika's blog, and guess what I found? My daughter! So funny to see pics of my sweet Kate on someone else's blog.
Monika has a great new business she and her sister started www.bbsbuttonsandbows.blogspot.com and has recently added these adorable beanie hats to the inventory. Our adorable daughters, Brinlee and Kate, were recruited to be models. It didn't take too much arm-twisting, I bet! These girls are so sweet and such darling friends!
Watch out boys!

Reading time

Every so often I catch my children being kind, thoughtful and loving to each other. It is our greatest desire that our children develop love for themselves and others but it is not always apparent that the lessons were teaching are getting through to them.
But then, when I least expect it, after a day of teasing, arguing, screaming, and tattling I find them cuddled up reading together. Are you serious, I think to myself? And what does a mother do in that moment? RUN FOR THE CAMERA!
Dylan and Kate, I love you guys and am glad that you two are developing a friendship. I hope there are moments each day when you remember that we are a family, come what may, and you look at your siblings as friends you'll have for life.

Funny Madi Moo!

Madi is goofy. She used to be very easy going and smiley all the time. And she still is, most of the time. But lately she has shown us that she has an opinion and is not afraid to share it. She also enjoys being a bit of a goofball! She keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing too!

Butterscotch

Nana and Papa have been looking for a pony for the grandkids for quite some time and last week they announced to the kids that they found a Shetland pony in Northern California, named Butterscotch! The kids got to ride her for the first time on Saturday at our nearby equestrian center. Nana and Papa have been trailing riding a lot lately and so the kids got some lessons from Nana before they got started. What fun!!!
Dylan payed attention well as Nana explained some horsemanship to Dylan.

Madi loves hanging out with Papa.

Kate and Nana had a fun time too!

Even Madi went for a few pony rides.

... and she loved it!

First Snow Day!

Daddy had the day off so he built the SNOWMAN of ALL SNOWMEN! Check out this dude! The girls think their daddy is the coolest daddy!
The awe of a snow angel!
Dylan wanted to surprise our neighbors by clearing their walkway before he left for school. What a sweetheart!
Dylan loves the snow! He can't wait for ski season to start!
Kate had fun just being silly in the snow!
Madi thought it was pretty fun until she fell on her bum for the tenth time and decided that she was done with this "snow thing."
